CSB Bank has named Vaibhav Sonavane as its new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Bringing over 18 years of expertise in cloud security, risk management, identity governance, and enterprise security architecture, Vaibhav will lead the bank’s cybersecurity strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive innovation to protect its digital banking ecosystem.
Previously, Vaibhav served as Senior Vice President & Head – Emerging Tech & Cloud Security at Axis Bank, where he established the Cloud Security Center of Excellence (CoE). He spearheaded initiatives such as threat hunting and red teaming, provided strategic direction on securing emerging technologies, and successfully managed audits with RBI and NCIIPC.
His career also spans senior positions at Oracle, PwC India, Jardine Lloyd Thompson Asia, Wipro Technologies, and Rolta India Limited. Across these roles, he gained deep expertise in identity and access management, enterprise security, and cloud-native solutions, and has been a trusted advisor to CISOs in designing and executing large-scale cybersecurity programs across banking, consulting, and technology sectors.
With his strong leadership background and proven track record in building high-performing security teams, Vaibhav is poised to play a pivotal role in CSB Bank’s mission to deliver secure, resilient, and technology-driven banking for the future.
