Problem Statement
The Al-Baker Group’s infrastructure previously operated On-Premises with a variety of servers and apps. To take full use of Azure’s benefits, the Al-Baker Group team opted to move the on-premises infrastructure to the Azure Cloud to gain technological innovation and a competitive edge.
Proposed Solution
The following steps were taken by the Visionet Team and the client to successfully assess the current On-Premises infrastructure:
- Interviews
- Azure migrate assessment
- Infrastructure workload dependency mapping
- Submission of Azure migration summary
The Visionet team conducted the following activities to complete the planning and
strategy for shifting all resources and workload to Azure:
- Azure infrastructure design discussion
- Cloud security discussion
- Application migration strategy
- Design Documents
Our Azure team also created a solution for a client’s infrastructure migration on Azure
using the Microsoft reference design and best practices. Here are some of the actions
that were taken:
- Azure active directory implementation
- Hub and Spoke Architecture on Azure
- Azure Infrastructure build using Terraforms
- SIEM solution implementation
- High availability and DR solution
- Lift and Shift of Virtual Machines (IaaS)
- Implement NVAs from different ISVs as cloud security best practices
- Re-Factor the SQL servers to Azure database for SQL managed Instances (PaaS)
- Isolated Environments and Virtual VNet configuration for Azure Web Apps
- Configuration of Azure App Service Environment (ASE) for App Service deployment
Customer Benefits
In addition to flexible, resilient, and highly available infrastructure, Al-Baker Group attained several benefits by transferring the On-prem cloud infrastructure to Azure.
