Sammeer Kulkarni has joined Bajaj Life Insurance as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the organization’s cybersecurity strategy, information security governance, cyber risk management, regulatory compliance, security operations, and cyber resilience initiatives, further strengthening Bajaj Life Insurance’s security posture amid the rapidly evolving digital financial services landscape.
Prior to joining Bajaj Life Insurance, he served as Chief Information Security Officer at Zurich Kotak General Insurance, where he led enterprise cybersecurity, information security governance, cyber risk management, and regulatory compliance, while driving strategic security initiatives across the organization.
Earlier, he was Vice President – Information Security at BNP Paribas, where he oversaw information security programs and worked to enhance the organization’s cybersecurity capabilities.
Before that, he spent more than six years with IndusInd Bank as DVP – Information Security, leading enterprise information security initiatives, security governance, and risk management across the bank’s technology environment.
He also served as Group Head – Information Security and IT Projects at IndiaFirst Life Insurance Co Ltd, overseeing enterprise information security and strategic IT projects supporting the insurer’s digital transformation initiatives.
Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Polaris Software Lab as Senior Manager – Information Security and Audit, Bharti Axa Life Insurance as Information Security Manager, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Co Ltd as Manager – IT, Centurion Bank of Panjab as Assistant Manager – IT, IL&FS in the Technology Group, and SMC System Integrators as Senior Executive – Support Services. These roles helped him build a strong foundation across IT infrastructure, enterprise security, and technology operations.
With more than 27 years of experience spanning cybersecurity, information security governance, cyber risk management, regulatory compliance, IT infrastructure, security operations, and digital transformation across the banking, financial services, and insurance sectors, Sammeer brings extensive expertise in developing resilient security frameworks and protecting mission-critical enterprise environments.
