Ashok Kumar Tiwari has taken on the role of DGM, CISO & DPO at Vasai Vikas Sahakari Bank Ltd, based in Vasai, Maharashtra.
In his expanded role, Tiwari will oversee IT, information security and data governance, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity and cyber resilience, AI governance and security, data protection and privacy, digital banking and technology transformation, as well as operational resilience and risk management.
Tiwari has been associated with Vasai Vikas Sahakari Bank since June 2023, initially serving as Chief Information Security Officer. During his tenure, he has contributed to strengthening the bank’s cybersecurity and information security functions while supporting its digital banking and technology initiatives.
Before joining Vasai Vikas Sahakari Bank, Tiwari served as Chief Information Security Officer & IT Head at Malad Sahakari Bank Limited. In this role, he led IT data centre operations, cybersecurity, digital banking and payments, infrastructure security and IT risk management. His responsibilities also included regulatory compliance, vulnerability management, security incident response and information security governance.
Earlier, Tiwari worked as IT Manager at E4 Software Services, where he handled IT infrastructure, banking technology, security controls and regulatory compliance in a 24×7 environment.
He began his career as IT Manager at Surya Children’s Medicare, managing IT assets, hardware and network security, technical support, installation and maintenance.
