Palo Alto Networks is strengthening its presence in the Asia-Pacific and Japan region with new cloud infrastructure investments across strategic locations including Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, and Singapore.
The cybersecurity leader is integrating its Prisma Access Browser into existing infrastructure to help organizations meet local data residency requirements without compromising security or performance.
This expansion addresses growing concerns around browser-based threats in today’s workplace, where browsers have become the primary work platform. According to Gartner, enterprise browsers will become the core platform for delivering workforce productivity and security software by 2030.
“Unmanaged devices are often the weakest link in an organisation’s security posture, especially as organisations increasingly embrace a distributed workforce model,” said Anupam Upadhyaya, Vice President Product for Prisma SASE at Palo Alto Networks. “Many organisations have reported significant gaps in their ability to decrypt network traffic for security purposes; on average, 64% of web traffic is left encrypted.”
The investment tackles security challenges arising from widespread adoption of SaaS and generative AI applications, along with increased use of unmanaged devices in hybrid work environments. These technologies, while boosting productivity, expand the attack surface for cybercriminals.
The regional cloud presence is part of Palo Alto Networks’ commitment to delivering comprehensive security services locally for Asia-Pacific and Japan customers, balancing data residency requirements with advanced threat detection capabilities.
