F5 and Google Cloud Launch Managed Solution to Transform Application Delivery and Security

New NGINXaaS Platform Tackles Growing Challenges of AI-Powered Cloud Applications

F5 has unveiled F5 NGINXaaS for Google Cloud, a fully managed application delivery-as-a-service solution designed to address the mounting complexities enterprises face when deploying modern, containerized, and AI-enabled applications.

Developed jointly with Google Cloud, the platform consolidates load balancing, security, and observability into a single unified solution, aiming to reduce tool sprawl while improving operational efficiency and cost management.

Bridging the Performance Gap

As organizations increasingly adopt dynamic infrastructure and AI-powered applications, traditional delivery and security tools often struggle to keep pace with evolving demands. F5 NGINXaaS combines F5’s Application Delivery and Security Platform capabilities with Google Cloud’s ecosystem, enabling businesses to customize systems for specific requirements—from managing massive traffic surges to implementing tailored security policies.

Available through Google Cloud Marketplace, the solution optimizes workload distribution through intelligent traffic management, unifying Layer 4 and Layer 7 load balancing to achieve faster response times and more efficient resource utilization during peak demand.

Enhanced Visibility and Operational Agility

The platform addresses common bottlenecks in hybrid and multicloud environments with intelligent load balancing and non-disruptive reconfigurations. Organizations gain access to over 200 real-time metrics for monitoring application health and performance, with native integrations with Google Cloud’s observability tools that enable proactive issue resolution.

F5 NGINXaaS supports advanced deployment strategies, including blue-green and canary deployments, as well as A/B testing, allowing enterprises to launch new features with minimal risk. Deep programmability through the NGINX JavaScript module provides teams with the flexibility to implement custom business logic and integrate seamlessly into CI/CD workflows.

Robust Security Framework

The solution delivers comprehensive protection for APIs, microservices, and containerized applications through end-to-end encryption, SSL/TLS passthrough, mutual TLS, and SSL/TLS termination. Authentication mechanisms include JSON Web Tokens, OpenID Connect, and role-based access control for precise identity management.

“F5 NGINXaaS for Google Cloud combines enhanced visibility with consistent, dynamic performance, empowering organizations to take full control of their cloud app environments while minimizing operational complexity,” said John Maddison, Chief Marketing Officer at F5.

Vineet Bhan, Director of Security and Identity Partnerships at Google Cloud, emphasized the partnership’s importance in addressing security challenges as businesses integrate AI into core operations.
