Anil Kuril has been elevated to the position of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Head of the Data Protection Office at Union Bank of India. With over 16 years at the bank and close to 30 years of experience in banking technology, Anil will now lead the charge on cybersecurity strategy and data protection across the organization.
In his previous role as Chief Technology Officer & CGM (IT, Digital & Analytics), Anil was instrumental in driving key initiatives around digital transformation, technological modernization, and analytics-based innovation. His industry influence extends beyond the bank, with board-level contributions to organizations such as IBDIC (Indian Banks’ Digital Infrastructure Company) and CERSAI India, helping shape the digital landscape of the Indian banking sector.
Before his tenure at Union Bank, Anil held senior IT leadership roles at Punjab National Bank and Allahabad Bank, managing major IT implementations and enterprise-level software projects. His deep domain knowledge in cybersecurity, digital banking, and enterprise IT makes him a key leader in enhancing Union Bank’s information security framework and reinforcing customer trust in the digital age.
