Rajendra Bhalerao has stepped into the critical role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Central Bank of India. Bringing over 20 years of extensive experience in cybersecurity, risk management, and digital infrastructure, he will lead the bank’s security initiatives and enhance its cyber defense capabilities in an increasingly complex threat environment.
Prior to this, Rajendra served in senior cybersecurity leadership positions at prominent institutions such as Scotiabank, SBM Bank, Paytm Payments Bank, and NPCI. Throughout his career, he has successfully led enterprise-level security initiatives including PCI-DSS implementation, SOC and SIEM operations, vulnerability assessments, and ISO27001 compliance.
His professional journey also includes impactful tenures at IndusInd Bank, WNS, Alcatel-Lucent, Mastek, EY, and Paladion, where he consistently drove major security transformation efforts. Rajendra’s appointment is a strategic move that underscores Central Bank of India’s commitment to strengthening its information security and governance framework.
