Sunil Nishankar has joined Ageas Federal Life Insurance as Chief Information Security Officer & DPO, based in Mumbai.
Before joining Ageas Federal Life Insurance, Nishankar served as Chief Information Security Officer at Generali Central Life Insurance, where he was responsible for leading information security initiatives within the regulated life insurance organization.
Prior to Generali Central Life Insurance, Nishankar was Vice President – Information Security at Genpact India, where he gained extensive experience in information security, risk assessment, data privacy and regulatory requirements, including GDPR and CCPA.
Earlier, he worked with IBM India as Project Manager and Senior Security Specialist, managing security projects for clients across sectors such as public sector banking, finance, production and healthcare.
Nishankar also spent more than six years at Aujas Networks, where he held Consultant and Senior Consultant positions, developing expertise in cybersecurity and risk assessment.
He began his technology career at Exa India as a System Administrator, where he managed 150 servers, system security, backups, network access and process automation. Earlier, he worked as a Linux Instructor and Consultant at Caballero Consultancy, providing Linux training and technical support for IT infrastructure and security.
With extensive experience across information security, data privacy, risk management, cybersecurity consulting and IT infrastructure, Nishankar brings a well-rounded security leadership background to his new role at Ageas Federal Life Insurance.
