Prof. Sandeep Shukla has officially taken charge as the Director of IIIT Hyderabad, bringing with him more than 30 years of expertise in cybersecurity, embedded systems, and academic leadership.
He previously held the position of Rajiv and Ritu Batra Endowed Chair for Cybersecurity at IIT Kanpur and played a key role in driving initiatives like C3iHub—India’s National Technology Innovation Hub focused on Cybersecurity of Cyber-Physical Systems. Beyond academia, Prof. Shukla has served in advisory capacities for several top institutions including REBIT (RBI), SEBI, NPCI, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IRDAI, and the Ministry of Power, contributing to national-level cybersecurity frameworks.
His international academic engagements span renowned institutions such as MIT, Virginia Tech, Inria (France), and TU Kaiserslautern (Germany). At IIT Kanpur, he also led the Department of Computer Science and contributed significantly to interdisciplinary research programs.
In his new role at IIIT Hyderabad, Prof. Shukla is set to enhance the institute’s research capabilities, promote innovation, and advance collaboration between academia and industry in emerging technology areas.
