Ashwini Kumar Choudhary is set to embark on a new role as Chief Risk Officer-Designate at RBL Bank.
In this position, he will focus on strengthening the bank’s enterprise risk management framework, enhancing oversight across credit, market, and operational risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting sustainable business growth through strong governance practices.
Prior to joining RBL Bank, he served as Group Chief Risk Officer at Union Bank of India, where he led enterprise-wide risk management initiatives spanning credit, market, and operational risk functions.
Earlier, he spent over a decade with TATA CLEANTECH CAPITAL LIMITED, initially serving as Head – Credit and later as Chief Risk Officer. During his tenure, he played a significant role in strengthening risk governance, enhancing credit evaluation frameworks, and improving portfolio risk management for renewable energy and infrastructure financing businesses.
Before that, he was Head Risk at Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited, overseeing enterprise-wide credit, market, and operational risk functions across the organization.
He also held the position of Vice President – Risk at HSBC, where he led corporate banking credit risk management initiatives and supported risk assessment for large corporate portfolios.
Prior to HSBC, he worked as Senior Manager – Risk at HDFC Bank, focusing on corporate banking credit risk management and portfolio quality oversight.
He began his banking career with Bank of Baroda, where he spent more than eight years in various roles covering corporate credit, SME financing, credit administration, and corporate banking operations.
With close to three decades of experience across banking, credit risk, market risk, operational risk, infrastructure financing, and enterprise governance, he brings extensive expertise in building resilient risk management frameworks and enabling sustainable financial growth.
