Shankar Venkatesan, a recipient of the Next100 2023 award, has assumed the position of Chief Information Security Officer and Vice-President – IT at Violin Technologies. Bringing over 25 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation, he will oversee the company’s IT and Information Security operations, ensuring technology strategies are closely aligned with business objectives.
In his new capacity, Shankar will lead initiatives aimed at bolstering Violin’s cybersecurity posture, enhancing its Group SAP systems, and advancing automation throughout the organization. Prior to this, he served in senior leadership roles at Avalon Technologies, where he was responsible for IT and InfoSec across multi-cloud environments and complex enterprise systems.
With deep expertise in data centers, Zero Trust architecture, vulnerability management, and SAP security—as well as notable recognitions such as the CIO 200 “Legend” Award and the 2023 Security Leadership Award—Shankar is set to be a key driver of innovation and resilience at Violin Technologies in the Manufacturing and EMS domain.
